The Senior Meals on Wheels Program was established in 1984 to serve seniors ages 60 and older in Western Michigan. Currently, through three programs, Senior Meals on Wheels feeds more than 5600 Kent County seniors each year. These unique opportunities would not be possible without private donations to supplement our dwindling government support.

Homebound Meal Program

Serves more than 1800 seniors a day and 600,000 meals a year.

Delivers nutritionally balanced meals to seniors who are homebound and unable to prepare meals for themselves. The meals we provide are prepared on-site in our own kitchen,

1/3 of the RDA, and specific to the needs of the senior.

Offers individual health assessments by either a nurse or social worker who visits the seniors in their homes twice a year.

Congregate Meal Program

Serves more than 875 seniors each day and 85,000 meals a year.

Manages 12 dining centers throughout Kent County so on-the-go seniors can get a hot and healthy meal close to home.

Offers social activities, medical check-ups and health education classes at the dining centers.
